BLOUNTSTOWN — The Rotary Club of Blountstown will host the 37th annual Goat Day and Pioneer Day Festival on Saturday at Sam Atkins Park.
This fundraising, family- friendly event includes arts, crafts, food, hayrides, bouncey house, and more. Admission is $5 per person. Children under the age of 3 admitted free. Highlights of festival events are:
Gates open at 8 a.m.
Goats, Goat Show, and Goat Milking Demonstration starts at 9 a.m.
Live Entertainment by the band FLABBERGASTED starts at 10 a.m.
“Funds raised are invested primarily to award scholarships to talented, local students that may be applied to trade/technical school, two-year college, or four-year university, Bruce Davis, president of The Rotary Club of Blountstown, said. “Additionally, we assist in community enrichments such as trees for Depot Park, Calhoun County EMS – Video Laryngoscope Equipment, and Calhoun County Senior Citizens Association’s Holiday Food Boxes. Nationally/Globally, we partner with Rotary International to provide clean drinking water and continue the fight to eradicate Polio.”
Sam Atkins Park is one mile West of Blountstown, off State Road 20 at NW Silas Green Road. Festival hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
